Caitlyn Jenner expressed shock on Tuesday night when voters voted “no” for the withdrawal effort against California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), and told reporters, “It’s a shame “.
The Republican reality TV star was one of 46 candidates running to replace Newsom; with 62% of the estimated vote, it received 1.2%.
Jenner criticized Newsom, saying he “did not campaign on any of his successes, because he has none,” and then mocked those who voted against the withdrawal. “I can’t believe so many people have actually voted to keep him in office,” Jenner said. “It’s a shame, honestly, it’s a shame. You have the government you deserve.”
Jenner announced his candidacy in April and made headlines to leave California in the middle of the campaign to appear Famous Big Brother in Australia and for being interviewed by Fox News host Sean Hannity in his private jet hangar, where he lamented the number of fellow aviators leaving the state due to homelessness.
