Royal staff members have criticized the “cold” interpretation of Prince Charles’ “compassionate” and “reflective” Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown.
The Duchess of Cornwall’s facialist Deborah Mitchell, who worked with her for 14 years, said the 73-year-old woman is “absolutely beautiful” in real life and nothing like her character from the fourth drama series. Netflix.
He added that he was a “true fan of Diana until he met Camilla.” Meanwhile, former royal butler Grant Harrold said Charles, 72, has also presented himself unfairly.
Following the launch last month of the latest hit series of Netflix, friends of the Prince of Wales launched a blunt attack on The Crown, accusing producers of “stepping on the Hollywood budget”.

Following the release of the fourth series of The Crown, Charles and Camilla’s joint Twitter account turned off their response feature after receiving a barrage of pro-Diana comments.
Speaking to Insider, Mrs Mitchell, founder of Heaven Skincare and who spent a lot of time with the couple at Highgrove and her other royal residences, said she did not believe it warmed both Camilla and her.
“I didn’t expect her to be absolutely charming in real life,” she explained. “She’s a very thoughtful person, she’s very supportive of women’s rights, and when she does any charity work, she does it because she wants to. Not because she has to, or because of fame.

“It does nothing for any reason other than the right one.”
Mrs. Mitchell recalled a time when, while visiting Camilla in Birkhall, the Duchess rescued her when she realized she had not made enough warm clothes for the cold Scottish weather.
“The duchess came in with that brown jumper on and I told her she was beautiful,” he said. “That day, he sent one of his people to look for the jumper and gave it to me.”
The Crown has received criticism for allegedly not doing enough to make viewers aware that it is a work of fiction, and Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden called for an exemption from historical liability to be added at the beginning of the episodes, a statement than actor Josh O’Connor, who plays the Prince of Wales, branded outrageous.

Charles has insisted that he will remain loyal to his wife (represented alongside Balmoral in 1981) until their relationship is “irretrievably broken.”
Mitchell said he believes the show should go further to notify viewers that his scenes are based on facts, but largely fictional.
He added that Camilla is not too concerned about public opinion, revealing: “When people say negative things, they understand that their perception can be very different.
“It can only be as it is and words can only come out of your mouth kindly.”
Royal Butler Harrold, who worked for Charles between 2004 and 2011, insisted that Camilla is neither cold nor manipulative, as the drama implies.
He recalled a time when the Duchess struggled to calm her nerves before attending the Royal Family’s Ghillies Dance at Balmoral Castle, a year in her service.

Harrold said he was trying to think of an excuse not to go because he worried he might do something wrong, but Camilla told him she would dance with him if he did because she knew it would “calm him down.”
At the event, held in a huge ballroom that seats 150 people, he said he “made a line” to find him. “That’s what people don’t see,” he added.
Harrold praised actor Josh O’Connor’s portrayal of Charles’ voice and manners, but said the drama inaccurately showed the prince “screaming and screaming all the time.”
Throughout his seven years of service, during which they were “close,” with him around the prince “very much,” the butler said that Charles never raised his voice to him.
Mrs. Mitchell added that Charles “is not at all” the way the Crown portrayed him, adding that the prince is “strong, powerful and compassionate” and will make an “incredible king.”
