Canadian police accused of posing to take pictures in front of the body

Two Canadian police officers have been captured in a video laughing and posing to take pictures in front of a dead man.

Videographer Zachary Ratcliffe captured the incident last week on a beach in Stanley Park where a dead man was lying in the sand, Canadian network CBC News reported.

The images showed one of the officers taking pictures while the other was doing postures in front of the body.

“I can’t explain why these agents were doing this, but seeing them laughing and clearly not understanding the gravity of the situation and not providing the dignity and respect that a deceased person would deserve, I found it an insensitive act,” he said Ratcliffe at the dam.

The Vancouver police department said the two officers had been sent to the scene to secure the area before the coroner could arrive.

No cause has been released for the man’s death, but authorities do not consider her a suspect.

The two officers have been reassigned while the agency investigates their alleged conduct.

“How to [Monday] in the morning, in accordance with Article 110 of the Police Act, the VPD has reassigned the two officers to non-deployable administrative posts while the [Office of Police Complaint Commissioner] the investigation is ongoing, “police spokeswoman Simi Heer said at the exit.
