Last year, Capcom suffered a leak revealing a game called Resident Evil Outbreak was scheduled for the Q4 2021 version.
As stated earlier by Capcom insider Golem at dusk, this title is apparently Resident Evil Revelations 3 (or at least it was originally called that at some point in development) and will be a “switch-centric RE game,” but not platform-exclusive.
The internal member himself has backed up previous claims, saying the game will arrive “within a year [Resident Evil] The release of “Village,” which will be released in May this year, and will be part of Capcom’s big 25th anniversary celebrations for its long-running survival horror series.
“This is not for me, but to remind you, Revelations 3 will be released within a year from the release date of Village, either in late 2021 or early 2022.
“The premieres as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, along with Village, will almost certainly be a Switch exclusive for the time being. But that will be announced later this year, for now Village deserves attention and will be out in a few months now! “
Dusk Golem goes on to explain how the game works “100%” on the RE engine for which it used Capcom Monster Hunter Rise and, while it’s a “timed exclusive,” it will be released “in all” as a multi-generational game. It was also mentioned how Rebecca would still be the protagonist:
“I first heard about Rev 3 in 2017 which would be starring Rebecca, and I’ve been updated several times over the years, it’s still a Rebecca game. I’m semi aware of who the 2nd and 3rd protagonists are, both of whom characters return, but those lips are closed for now. “
Dusk Golem previously released a new Monster Hunter game for Switch long before the official announcement, explaining how it would work in RE Engine.
The last entry in the Revelations line was Resident Evil Revelations 2 – An episode of the survival horror series, which was originally released in 2015 and appeared on Switch in 2017.
