Earlier this morning, Capcom unveiled Gold’s first screenshot in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5. Oro is currently scheduled to launch in the summer of 2021, following Rose, which will be released on the spring of 2021.
In the screenshot, the golden mustard yellow complexion is clearly seen on the wrinkled forehead. His eyes also emit a red glow. If we didn’t know who Oro was, it would probably make us think that Oro was an evil character based on red eyes.
Oro is expected to have some sort of theme that will make him balance a turtle with one hand. In Street Fighter 3, Oro was known to fight with one hand tied as a way to hold back. Instead, it will maintain and balance a turtle in Street Fighter 5.
Of course, we’ve already seen how Oro will cause the turtle to levitate briefly by activating Tengu Stone. Based on the sound effects that were played during the Golden Glance that was played towards the end of the Winter Update broadcast, we believe Tengu Stone is one of the Golden V-Triggers.
It should be noted that the turtle in question can be seen sitting on the Golden Head in Capcom’s new screenshot. Of course, all we can see of the turtle is its legs. Since Oro is supposed to hold the turtle during the game, it looks like it could be Oro’s introductory animation to Street Fighter 5.
Unfortunately, the screenshot is cut in Gold’s mouth. However, he makes it clear that Oro has a gargantuan nose and extremely large ears. This makes sense given that he is a 140-year-old hermit and that the ears and nose are the only parts of the human body that do not stop growing.
More information about Oro (and Rose) is expected to be released during the Spring Update broadcast that will air tomorrow, April 6th. As always, we will provide coverage as the news falls tomorrow.
The nomadic hermit Oro makes his long-awaited return to #SFV!
