Peter Nygård, founder of the fashion company Nygård International, was arrested in Winnipeg, Canada, at the headquarters of his company. The United States requested his extradition.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, the New York Police Department and the FBI announced that Nygård will face charges of sexual trafficking, extortion, organized crime, fraud, coercion, transportation with fines for prostitution, illegal sexual activity and “other crimes involving dozens of women and adolescent victims in the United States, the Bahamas and Canada.”
