Members of the Public Ministry and the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) reported on the arrest this Sunday, with the collaboration of U.S. sheriffs (Marshalls), of alleged drug traffickers Vladimir Natera Abreu and Joset Jomar Rivera Verdejo.
Natera Abreu, considered the largest cocaine trafficker in Puerto Rico, and Rivera Verdejo were arrested during a raid on the Gil Roma tower in the Evaristo Morales extension in the National District.
Authorities reported that the two drug traffickers are being held at the DNCD headquarters and in the custody of Marshalls agents.
They reported that in the next few hours the process for his delivery to Puerto Rico will begin, where they have pending matters with the justice for crimes related to drug trafficking.
The information was offered through a press release. Authorities explained that their seizure occurred as part of the strategies they are implementing against drug trafficking in the country.
Natera Abreu and Rivera Verdejo, according to the authorities, were actively persecuted by the authorities of the Public Ministry and the DNCD since last year.
This Sunday’s operation is part of the Dominican State’s international cooperation actions against organized crime.
