The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday released updated guidelines that people at high risk for serious COVID-19 complications should avoid cruises.
“People at higher risk for serious illness should also avoid traveling on cruises, including river cruises, regardless of vaccination status,” the agency said, on an updated page on its website.
The CDC also noted that people who were not fully vaccinated should avoid cruising.
In addition, the CDC said cruise people should wear a mask to keep their nose and mouth covered when they are in shared spaces.
“While the CDC Mask Order is not being applied to cruise ships, individual cruise lines may require passengers (passengers and crew) to wear masks on board the ship,” he said. .
