The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) today updated its list of high-risk destinations for travel in the midst of the pandemic, and included Puerto Rico.
The agency placed the island at transmission level 4, which represents the highest in measurement and recommends travelers not to come to Puerto Rico or be completely vaccinated to do so.
Puerto Rico was at level three representing “high” transmission risk, and went on to “very high”.
Six destinations were added to the list, these are: Azerbaijan, Estonia, Guam, Macedonia, St. Lucia and Switzerland.
The CDC ranks Level 4 in those sites that have had more than 500 virus cases per 100,000 population in the past 28 days.
