Biden adviser Cedric Richmond told “Axios on HBO” that the White House believes it has bipartisan support for an out-of-belt stimulus bill.
- “If our choice is to wait and go to bipartisanship with an insufficient package, we won’t.”
The general picture: The bill is likely to go through a review in the Senate after House Democrats narrowly passed a stimulus law this weekend, Kadia Goba of Axios reports.
“Richmond said.” the Biden White House has not held talks on breaking the legislative filibuster in the Senate, which requires a 3/5 majority to pass laws.
- “The Senate has been obstructive for a long time,” Richmond told Axios on HBO.
- “We’ve sent them bills that enjoy the support of 97% of Americans … but it reaches the Senate and dies,” Richmond said.
