Cedrick Dort will not play in the Gator Bowl

When Kentucky starts against NC State tomorrow at noon it will do so without red corner Cedrick Dort. Dort announced the news via Twitter this evening.

This morning, Coach Stoops announced that the team was at 100% after eliminating its final round of COVID testing. It is unclear whether Dort’s condition is due to deactivation or some other unforeseen circumstance.

This season, Dort has allowed seven receptions in 11 goals for 72 yards with ten attacks as well. It has two deviations from last year. Dort didn’t see many snapshots in 2020 behind Kelvin Joseph, but the South Florida native saw a massive rise in snapshots against South Carolina after Joseph opted for his retirement a few days earlier.

Kentucky will look for Carrington Valentine and Brandin Echols on the corner on Saturday.

It’s a pretty thin corner room for Brad White’s defense for Saturday.
