Kelly Clarkson didn’t have the easiest transition to fame, but Jennifer Love Hewitt was a big help.
Clarkson, 38, thanked Hewitt, 41, for his kind words during his stint on “American Idol” in 2002 on Thursday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
“I probably don’t remember that, but I was stuck [for] so much, almost twenty years ago, “Clarkson began.” But just then – you have no idea I’m about to say it and you probably don’t remember it – but it was at some kind of MTV awards or something. like VMA or something, I don’t know what it was, you ran towards me. And it was right when, like in the final three, I think of “Idol,” and we were so hit and everything went like a whirlwind and people like that were really bad with us, because we’re from a talent show and it was the first season “.
She continued, “Because everyone was so rude to us, like on the carpet, like on the show … it was so bad. It was a horrible experience and you came to me and you ran towards me from no -res and you told me like, “Wow! I am really rooting for you! ‘”
“You said to me,‘ Please keep the ones you love so close and unfortunately it will end up being few people, but this business can be very hard. And remember to save those people who really love you, ”and you gave me that advice that was very, very kind at such an unkind time for me personally,” Clarkson said as Hewitt smiled and added, “So, “Thank you so much, it meant the world to me. You were very nice.”
Previously, Clarkson spoke of Demi Lovato about her struggle with fame and told her in a June episode of her show, “It’s not easy to always have a focus on you and the arrows point at you, especially when you’re vulnerable. and give people more ammunition for all the trolls out there. “
