César Carozzi, general surgeon and specialist in Hyperbaric Medicine at the Ricardo Palma Clinic, points out that when the virus enters the body, by various mechanisms it prevents the arrival of oxygen in the cells and generalized hypoxia occurs. Under these conditions inflammation, pneumonitis and severe respiratory failure are generated.

Dr. Carozzi’s specialty is hyperbaric medicine which has been shown to be very effective as a post covid treatment. “When the person enters the hyperbaric chamber and breathes medicinal oxygen at high pressure, their body will saturate 20 times more oxygen than under normal conditions, managing to de-inflame and recover damaged tissues. This will speed up your healing and recovery process“, Explains the doctor.

It is worth noting that before undergoing this treatment the patient must perform a medical evaluation to determine if it is the most appropriate therapy for their post COVID-19 rehabilitation process.
