López Obrador stressed that this situation leaves them with a great lesson: “not to put all the eggs in one basket” and that he assured, Mexico has several sources to generate energy.
He explained that the country’s thermoelectric and hydroelectric projects were launched immediately.
“We have to have this experience of having several options. Imagine in Texas, I say it with all due respect, they have no choice but natural gas, this crisis is coming and they have no choice, they have no alternative. Here when it starts to increase the price of natural gas and when you decide you are not going to supply us with natural gas liquefied gas vessels and other actions are immediately contracted. This is a very good lesson, not to be betting only on one type of fuel, of course, to look for possible non-polluting fuels, ”he explained.
He promised all environmentalists to convert plants that use diesel or fuel oil to be natural gas.
