MIAMI, Fla. – Police found a person and a vehicle hit by bullets and passed in a chaotic scene at the Miami Bayside Marketplace on Christmas night after responding to shooting reports.
Two shots were fired an hour apart and Miami police are still investigating whether the shots were related.
It all started around 10:30 p.m. on the corner of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 2nd Street in downtown Miami. The video of the cell phone taken by residents in high-rise condominiums on the boulevard showed people scattered after hearing the sounds of gunfire.
Detectives told Local 10 that a woman suffered a bullet, but refused treatment.
One person was arrested at the scene, but its possible involvement is still unclear.
While investigating that shooting, officers responded to a second shot about an hour later, just one block south.
Police later arrested a man who had been shot in the leg.
Crime scene detectives returned to the scene just after sunrise and placed at least a dozen test marks on the ground. The scene was cleared just before 9 a.m. Saturday.
At this time, researchers have not yet said whether the two traits are related.
