The former representative indicated that she regretted having entered politics

Former representative Maria “Tata” Charbonier Laureano said today, Saturday, that she regretted having entered politics through a posting on your social media.
Charbonier Laureano’s publication also states that her husband has not “instigated her to any illegal conduct in nearly 40 years of marriage.”
In addition, the former neo-progressive legislator assured that neither her husband Orlando Montes Rivera “nor our Son, nor Frances whom we love as a daughter, conspired with me for absolutely nothing.”
Charbonier Laureano, Montes Rivera, his son Orlando Montes Charbonier and his ex-assistant Frances Acevedo Ceballos were indicted on August 7, 2020 for participating in an alleged $ 100,000 fraud scheme. In addition, they face charges of conspiracy, theft of federal funds, bribery, illegal ‘kickbacks’ commissions and honest service electronic fraud.
Charbonier and her husband also face charges of money laundering and the former lawmaker faces an additional charge of obstruction of justice.
