Charges against man who participated in assault on the Capitol for death threat to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez

Washington dc – Federal authorities charged a Texas man who participated in the congressional attack with threatening to kill Puerto Rican Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on Twitter.

According to CNN, Garret Miller was charged with five counts, including making death threats and breaking into the U.S. Capitol without permission, as part of the assault on Congress by supporters of then-President Donald Trump, an event which the federal government is investigating as an act of domestic terrorism.

According to the indictment, Miller tweeted “murder AOC,” the acronym by which the congresswoman’s name is identified.

Miller also noted that the policeman who shot at a woman who tried to enter the chamber chamber, as part of the mobs, “deserved to die” and was not going to survive long because “it’s hunting season.”

Miller was arrested Wednesday. His lawyer, Clint Broden, has indicated that his client is sorry for the comments he made.

“He did it in support of former President (Donald) Trump, but he regrets his actions. He has the support of his family, and many of the comments, seen in context, are a kind of wrong political hyperbole. Because of the political divisions these days, there’s a lot of hyperbole, ”Broden noted.

More than 135 people have been charged with federal charges because of their involvement in the assault on the Federal Capitol, which the U.S. House of Representatives determined was incited by then-President Trump, with the intent to try to reverse the result of the November 3 election. Many more are expected to be charged in the coming weeks.

The FBI has received more than 200,000 clues offered by the public about the congressional attack, including over 100,000 videos.
