Check out the Google Fiat Hey family of cars with voice assistant

Technology companies like Google have been putting their technology in cars for years, but a new collaboration marks the first time drivers will be able to drive a real Google-branded car.

Fiat has recently introduced the new family of Fiat 500 special edition vehicles “Hey Google”, which feature Google Assistant technology that allows owners to communicate with their cars remotely and carry Google logos and features of design both on the outside and inside the vehicles.

The Italian carmaker, owned by Stellantis, announced on Wednesday the collaboration with Google, with a press release presenting its three new special editions Fiat 500, the Fiat 500, the crossover 500X and the multipurpose vehicle 500L, as “Google technology” meets freshness “.

All three cars, ranging in size from the two-door Fiat 500, subcompact to the four-door 500X crossover SUV, feature all of Google’s technology.

They have a 7-inch touch screen on the dashboard that includes the built-in Google Assistant. This allows users to connect to their car’s dashboard using Google’s digital assistant on their smartphones or the Google Nest Hub.

Fiat and Google say drivers of new cars can even interact with their vehicles remotely.

Wherever you are, even sitting on the couch at home, just say the words “Hey Google, ask my Fiat …” to know, for example, where the car was parked; how much fuel is there available, where is the nearest authorized workshop, how many [miles] we’ve covered the day, ”Fiat says in its press release.

The company adds that even drivers can ask the Google Assistant to ask their car if they remember to close the doors or the trunk.

Beyond technology, Fiat 500 “Hey Google” cars have all the small circular “Hey Google” logos on each side of the vehicle, right in front of the side mirrors, as well as other elements decorated with the colors of the Google logo.

The pillars of the cars are “decorated with elements inspired by the colors of Google.”

Apple (which apparently is building its own car) makes a similar software platform for the car, called Apple CarPlay, while Amazon also offers Alexa Auto.
