Despite being 903/10 from Verstappen, it was enough to beat Fernando Alonso and Lando Norris, who gave something to talk about for much of the morning.
During Max’s first lap, the Dutchman clocked 1: 11.225 and improved to 1: 10.702, barely on his second chance and using yellow compound, which put him in first place halfway through the session.
However, the most important moment was at the end of practice time to prevail over Valtteri Bottas and bring the stopwatch to 1: 09.623. With that he was 556/10 faster than the Finn. In third place finished Lewis Hamilton with 1: 10.417 and giving him calm in the face of qualifying.
What gave the surprise was the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso, who led his Alpine to first place for a few minutes by achieving 1: 10.670. The two-time world champion was able to lead part of the first and second half of the session.
The third practice also lived its dramatic moment with the impact suffered by the Spaniard Carlos Sainz when it crashed into the wall of tires and caused damage to his Ferrari in both the front and rear. .
