Chrissy Teigen celebrates 50 days of sobriety which, according to her, is the “longest streak” without alcohol

Chrissy Teigen announced she had 50 days left over for alcohol in a Saturday post.

The 35-year-old Cravings founder confessed it was his “longest streak to date” without alcohol after first experiencing sobriety for the first time in November after his tragic pregnancy loss.

Teigen had been open about her complicated relationship with alcohol in the past and also has a history of alcohol abuse in her family, but confessed to the possibility of drinking again someday.

In 2018 she spoke to Women’s Health Magazine and said that postpartum depression after having Luna also made her drink to cope with the pain before receiving an antidepressant.

In an August 22 Instagram post, she reflected on the days she was living in New York with Legend and referred to herself as a “running alcoholic” at the time.

“I would sit there with my multiple double vodka soft drinks and drink the day on my own (that’s not a braggart hehe, it was basically an alcoholic that worked),” the excerpt read.

Teigen went on to talk about her miscarriage in September and confessed that at one point she had turned to alcohol to numb the pain.

“I don’t feel like I’ve completely processed the jack and now that I don’t have the alcohol to put him to sleep, things are just … there, waiting for me to be recognized,” he shared.

She had talked about the discouragement of knowing she would never be pregnant again and continues to heal with the help of horseback riding for therapy, grief counseling, and cooking.
