Chrissy Teigen opens up about her sobriety.
Arriving on Instagram on Wednesday, the 35-year-old model revealed how Holly Whitaker’s book, “Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol,” contributed to her sober decision.
“A month ago, on the day of my birthday, I received this book from my doctor and friend,” Teigen began in her Instagram story.
“I had just made an ass in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of drinking the day and feeling like I was at 6, unable to sleep,” he continued. “Since then I’ve been sober and even if you can’t be seen doing it or just don’t want to, it’s still an amazing read.”
Earlier this week, Teigen confirmed he has been sober for a month. After the revelation, the author of the cookbook received a lot of messages of support from fans.
“I just got sober too !! Beautiful !!! I love that !! ”he commented on social media.
“Go on beautiful! One day at a time, ”replied another.
Teigen, the wife of singer John Legend, 42, has experienced difficulties in recent months, revealing in October that she suffered a miscarriage.
The couple, who share their 4-year-old daughter Luna and 2-year-old son Miles, honored their late son Jack with tributes.
This isn’t the first time Teigen has talked about his drink. In 2017, Teigen told Cosmopolitan that he had “drunk too much.
“I got used to being in my hair and make-up and having a glass of wine. Then, that glass of wine would take another before the awards ceremony. And then a lot at the awards ceremony. And then I felt bad for making a kind of ass out of the people I really respected, ”Teigen said at the time.
