Christie Brinkley called in 2020 when she took to Instagram to reveal that she finally pushed through the last years of fear and dread and got a hip replacement to fix an annoying injury she suffered during a 1994 helicopter crash.

Eventually, the injury became bad enough that doctors recommended that he undergo hip replacement surgery.
I was told 12 years ago that it needed to be replaced, but the surgery was daunting. And I had things to do! said the Michigan native, which turned out to be her way of postponing the inevitable.

The mother of three revealed that she was told she had to have hip replacement surgery 12 years ago, but that she had postponed it for fear and a busy schedule.
But then, like so many others in the last ten months, the COVID-19 pandemic shook the world of Brinkley and he finally decided to take the time to do “something about the pain that had progressively influenced my decisions.”
This past Thanksgiving, the mother of three put these thoughts into practice and underwent surgery, which she said gave her enough time to dance in the kitchen on New Year’s Eve.
“And today I put on my long fins and explored the coral reefs propelled by my new hip.” he shared along with some photos of his ocean getaways while snorkeling.

“I’m writing all this to say if you’ve been postponing something that could improve your well-being but doubt some kind of fear, I suggest you learn all you can about the process, the results and the expectations. I found the best doctor for my circumstances and voila!
And in the end, the results of the surgery appear to be better than expected.
“I can’t tell you I’m glad I did,” he confessed before adding, “now I can focus on regaining form and rebuilding my strength.” Never ever too old to be fashionable!

The helicopter crash near the tragedy occurred while she was on a ski trip with five other people to Telluride, Colorado.
Surprisingly after five hours, they were all rescued from 12,800 feet down a mountain by another helicopter, according to the Associated press.
Brinkley gained world fame with his appearances in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, which began in the late 1970s.
