Chuck Norris talks about last week’s mortal riots in the United States Capitol after a photo of a man in DC similar to the actor started tending online.
“It wasn’t me and it wasn’t there,” Norris tweeted Tuesday night. “There is no place for any kind of violence in our society. I am and will always be so by law and order.”
“Chuck remains in his work area in Texas, where he has been with his family,” Norris director Erik Kritzer previously told The Associated Press. He acknowledged that the man pictured looked a bit like Norris, but “Chuck is much more handsome.”
At least one observer had already pointed out that the man portrayed in DC had a different eye color from the famous actor.
“I don’t think it’s him,” read the tweet. “Chuck Norris has blue eyes, this guy has dark brown eyes.”
“Walker, Texas Ranger,” in which Norris played jurist Cordell Walker, who suffered from karate, ran on CBS from 1993 to 2001. In 2016 he announced his support for President Donald Trump.
