The Cleveland Browns have placed offensive attack Jedrick Wills Jr. on the reserve list / COVID-19.
The No. 10 pick in this year’s draft, outside of Alabama, has started every game left for Cleveland this season.
Wills was included in the list after being identified as a close high-risk contact with someone outside the organization. Wills would be eligible to get off the virus list if he tests negative for five consecutive days, which could put him on track to continue playing Sunday against the New York Jets.
“There’s a possibility,” coach Kevin Stefanski said.
Wills ’absence in practice, at the very least, is the last blow for a Browns offensive line that fell suddenly. Wyatt Teller, right-back, missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury and was expected to miss training again on Thursday. Cleveland has also lost key linebacker Chris Hubbard, who was put on reserve for injuries this week with a knee injury he suffered while starting instead of Teller on Sunday. Rookie center Nick Harris replaced Teller and Hubbard on guard.
A source told ESPN that Wills’ close contact issue had nothing to do with his Winter Blast event earlier this week.
The Browns also placed receiver Ryan Switzer on the practice list / COVID-19.
