Cleveland Browns WR infant son Ryan Switzer back in hospital

CLEVELAND – Browns receiver Ryan Switzer said his infant son has been hospitalized again and a blood transfusion is being transferred to him.

Switzer posted the latest Twitter update on Christian on Sunday, saying he has it another transfusion after his hemoglobin fell overnight. Switzer said doctors need to increase the boy’s blood count so that it is stable enough to undergo further testing.

Switzer asked his followers for prayers.

Earlier this week, the 26-year-old father posted a video thanking the audience for his overwhelming outpouring of support for Christian, who underwent surgery last week after being hospitalized for bleeding. Switzer had said doctors were still not sure what was causing the bleeding. Christian, who was born in May 2020, had also tested positive for COVID-19.

Switzer wrote Saturday night that Christian had “more significant bleeding” and that it was back to the hospital.

“We are frustrated, but even more exhausted to see our son suffer,” Switzer wrote. “We ask for prayers for doctors as they work to find a diagnosis and strength for Christian as he struggles.”

Switzer spent last season on the Cleveland training squad. He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons after being signed by Dallas in the 2017 NFL Draft outside of North Carolina.
