During an interview with ESPN, the now former Eagles of America player Paul Aguilar, Revealed that he was on the verge of strengthening the current Mexican football champion El León for this 2021 MX League Closing Tournament.
However, despite the interest on both sides for Paul to reach La Fera after being released after the 2020 Opening of America, Aguilar was able to play in the box led by Ignacio Ambriz, but failed to reach an agreement with the board.

“I had close contact with León, but we couldn’t reach an agreement either. They opened the doors for me and these are situations that occur,” he said.

In the end I was able to achieve a beautiful career. Today I have new goals , challenges outside of football and if that doesn’t happen to find a team, ”he commented.
Finally, he revealed that there is interest from several MLS clubs to get his services and his representative is currently analyzing all the options to see which is the best already in this last stage of his career.
“I wouldn’t look down on retiring to MLS. My family is American and it gives me a plus to be able to retire in the United States. My rep has talked to several teams and there are approaches with two or three, but nothing concrete and they are in no hurry, because they do not know when the tournament will start and I have trained, trotting to keep pace and if it happens not to arrive unconditionally.In the end it happens or I do not have to follow my life and keep fit to be in the best shape, ”he commented.
