Santo Domingo, RD.
The Dominican College of Journalists (CDP) today demanded that the Catholic Church identify the journalists it accuses of being blackmailers at the time of urging them to submit to the College’s Disciplinary Tribunal.
Mercès Castell, president of the CDP, said that the institution is committed to defending ethical and socially responsible journalism and that it will not be complicit in indecent actions against the noble profession of journalist.
“The CDP executive committee demands that Father Arsenio Ferreira Rosari reveal the names of the journalists he accused of being blackmailers who engage in blackmail and pressure on the media public and private officials, people already in business with false notes in the social media in search of money, when reading the 7 words spoken by Jesus on the cross, Father, in your hands I entrust my soul, “says a statement from the CDP.
Mercedes Castell pointed out that the immoral exercise dishonors the journalistic profession, so it is the duty of the church to point out who these blackmailing journalists are, since in journalism not all journalists are unethical.
“If we do not identify them and submit them to the CDP Disciplinary Court, they would be leaving the doubt that any journalist is immoral and blackmailing, and neither the church nor anyone else has a right to this,” said the president of the College.
