Megan Rapinoe, captain of the United States team, was one of the figures in the victory over Colombia in the second friendly. The Americans thrashed this time with a 6-0.
Sum and superiority continue to expand. Of eight matches played between the women’s teams of the United States and Colombia, seven have been victories for the Americans, the other remaining game was a draw.
Colombia, unfortunately, did not give up with the ball in the two friendlies played against the United States this week. The former lost 4-0 and tonight’s was 6-0. The Colombians, who returned to play friendly matches after more than a year and a half without meeting, had few chances to score in both friendlies, as well as were reduced by the wide possession of the ball of the Americans.
Both commitments serve coach Nelson Abadia to profile the players in the local league that could serve for the starting team, as many of the members of the senior team belong to European teams, and not being these matches part of FIFA dates, were not in the obligation to be lent for both games.
Learning remains and the path of Colombia’s selection is arduous.
