Colombia vs. Paraguay (1-1): Summary, match and goals in Asuncion for Qatar 2022 Qualifiers | COLOMBIA

Colombia tied 1-1 in front Paraguay on the 6th of Qatar Qualifiers 2022. The goals were from Sanabria (Paraguay) and Quadrado (Colombia), in a match where the set of Reinaldo Rueda was closer to the second, but adds its second point on this triple date.

An intense match with a Colombia that presented a different lineup for this duel for what was presented with Roda. Two fast men by the bands like Sinisterra and Quadrado that were those that tried it more and demanded to the Paraguayan defense.

Paraguay was complicated with the game and appealed to those who know, counterattack and fight in the area against the Colombian defenses that, above all, Dávinson Sánchez was the one who made the most mistakes and, in fact, was engaged in the goal after not scoring Romero on the left and it was Sanabria who scored the first.

Colombia was upset by the strong play of the Guarani, who had problems with Barris and was almost sent off in a fight with Romero, which ended with intervention by the VAR and a yellow card for both. Thus concluded the first part for both teams.

Already in the second half, Colombia found the lead with a hand from Alderete that had intervention from the VAR and the referee ruled as a penalty. The one in charge to execute was Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who marked the definitive tie in the encounter.

Reinaldo Rueda refreshed Colombia’s attack with the entry of Falcao and Roger Martínez for Erase and Borja, who gave him a little more arrival on the wings and dynamism in attack. The tricolor was incisive playing for opening of track and complicated to Silva that was one of the figures of the party avoiding the goals in its arc.

Paraguay looked for him with quick exits from his area and looked with his strikers, but did not clearly define the options he had. Already in the last minutes, Diaz entered the field and created danger on the left, but it was not clear in their centers throughout the last part.

The match ended with Colombia in attack and Paraguay defending with their men. The tricolor looked for it, but in the end it could not increase the marker and finished with a point that entangles the accounts, although it continues adding in the qualifying ones.

In fact criticism from some local media at Berizzo comes from afar, questioning a lack of direction and a lack of engagement between players and tactical moves.

Against Colombia, at the Defensores de la Chaco stadium, Paraguay will be without Junior Alonso, one of their defensive pillars, warned in Quito, and Alberto Espínola, injured five minutes into this match.

Marc Cáceres, the veteran defender of Guaraní, was called up to replace Espínola, and Gustavo Gómez would replace Alonso.

In the front lines, Berizzo, who promised that the game will be resolved in the Colombian area, would resort to the duo formed by Ángel Romero and Antonio Sanabria, seconded back by Alejandro Romero and Jorge Morel.

For their part, those led by Reinaldo Rueda take the shock after the feeling of having lost a point in La Paz, where they were ahead with the goal of Roger Martínez.

The striker would be starting, with the doubt of whether Roda will give work to veteran defender Óscar Murillo, who was one of the highlights against Bolivia.

Doubt also that of Andrés Andrade, who traveled to Asunción despite a muscle inflammation caused by the match against the Andes.

Paraguay moved further away from the classification zone by losing this Thursday to Ecuador (2-0), occupying sixth place with seven points.

While Colombia is in fifth place, with 9 points, after its draw this week against Bolivia in La Paz (1-1), in its first duel of this triple day of the South American qualifiers in Qatar.
