Colombia’s women’s team thrashed Ecuador in Quito in a friendly – Sports – Sports

the Colombia women’s team closed its preparation tour in Ecuador with a new victory, this time by a thrashing against the local team. The team led by Nelson Abadia won 0-4 in preparation for the Copa America.

The great figure of the party was Catherine Usme, author of the four goals of the match. This is the second time Usme has scored a poker with the yellow shirt: he had already done so on April 4, 2018, in the 7-0 victory over Uruguay, in the first phase of the Copa America played in Chile.

Colombia took the lead after 40 minutes, as a result of Suany Fajardo’s awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. The Ecuadorian was expelled and Catalina Usme scored the first goal of the game.

Usme’s 0-2 was a header, after a cross from the right by Diana Ospina, 10 minutes into the second half.

The third was the most beautiful of Usme’s and Colombia’s goals: he scored from a free kick, with a shot from outside the barrier.

The 0-4 was again the work of Usme, again from the penalty spot, at 37 in the second stage.

The 2022 edition of the Women’s America’s Cup has not yet been set. The tournament will deliver three direct boxes for the 2023 World Cup in New Zealand, plus two boxes for the playoffs. In addition, it will distribute three contingents for women’s football at the Pan American Games.
