CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday assassinated two advisers to Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu for “atrocious and ill-conceived comments” and called on them to adhere to advice at the head of the CCP.
In a statement, the chief minister of Punjab urged Sidhu to “slow down” his advisers “before they end up causing further damage to India’s interests.”
“Punjab CM has warned against the atrocious and ill-conceived comments of two advisers (head of state Congress) Navjot Sidhu on sensitive national issues such as Kashmir and Pakistan, which were potentially dangerous to the peace and stability of the country, “the statement said.
“Captain Amarinder urged Sidhu’s advisers to adhere to giving advice to the PPCC president and not to talk about matters of which they clearly had little or no knowledge and did not understand the implications of his comments,” he added.
Singh responded to Pyare Lal Garg’s statements, questioning his criticisms of Pakistan, as well as an earlier statement by Malwinder Singh Mali about Kashmir.
In a recent post on social media, Mali had addressed the issue of repealing Article 370 of the Constitution, which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir.
He had reportedly said that if Kashmir was part of India, then what was the need to have Articles 370 and 35A.
Singh expressed shock at Mali and Garg’s “extraordinary statements”, which he said were totally out of place and antagonistic.
“This is totally anti-national. Kashmir was and is an indispensable part of India,” the chief minister said.
Responding to Garg’s statement that Pakistan’s (Singh) criticism of Pakistan was not in the interest of the Punjab, Amarinder said Sidhu’s adviser is clearly disconnected from terrestrial reality.
“The fact that all Punjabi and in fact all Indians know is that Pakistan’s threat to us is real. Every day they push weapons and drugs into the Punjab using drones in a blatant attempt to destabilize our state. and our nation, ”he said. .
“Punjabi soldiers die at the borders at the hands of Pak-backed forces,” he said, calling Garg’s claims irrational and unjustified.
