Composer Silira Hill, Gradius and Contra, Akira Yamaoka, provokes a new project

Akira Yamaoka’s had a long history in gaming. Best known as the composer of the Silent hill has recently been working on the Xbox Series X game S / PC The Middle, but will not rest soon. Not even a week after its release, Yamaoka is already provoking its next big project.

Sitting down with Al Hub for an interview, when asked if he was working on any other projects at the moment, Yamaoka replied, “He’ll probably hear something this summer that will be announced.” Speaking through a translator, he added: “And I think it’s what you want to hear about.”

Since then, Al Hub has dismissed that story and defined its YouTube video as private, raising questions about whether Yamaoka has let slip something it shouldn’t have.

As for what game this could be, it would be a new entry from Silent Hill obvious candidate. Since then Silent hills’ cancellation in 2015, there has been strong demand for a new game. Yamaoka’s interest in coming back and considering he worked there is well known Dead By Daylight’s Silent Hill update last year, fans are excited.

Yamaoka has also worked on titles such as Cons: Hard Corps, Gradius III, Rumble Roses i Arrabassador. It is worth noting, however, that he left Konami in 2009 and has since worked mostly with Grasshopper Manufacture. When he also includes his latest projects Ninjala i World of tanks, we don’t want to start jumping to conclusions. Either way, it looks like we have something to look forward to this summer.
