Allegiant Las Vegas Stadium
CONCACAF surprised several with its announcement about the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final. The sixteenth edition of the main competition for men’s national teams in the region was awarded to Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium, the brand new state-of-the-art stadium that is now home to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The decisive match of the tournament will be played on August 1 and will crown the best men’s national team in the CONCACAF region. This announcement was made official in a statement issued by the confederation.
This will be the first time a Gold Cup match has been played in Las Vegas in the 30-year history of the tournament, making the 2021 competition a historic edition. The Final will close what will be an exciting summer of football, which will include the Concacaf Nations League Finals in June and the Gold Cup preliminaries in July. will be played in the City of Ft. Lauderdale at DRV PNK Stadium, home to Inter Miami.
“At CONCACAF we are very excited about this summer’s Gold Cup and we know that Las Vegas and the Allegiant Stadium will be a great city and stadium for the final,” said CONCACAF President and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani . “2021 is the year of the 60th anniversary of Concacaf, which makes this edition very special for players and fans. The federations and their teams look forward to this tournament and it is appropriate that the regional champion be crowned in such an exceptional and famous venue, “he added.

Football arrives at the home of the Raiders
“The Raiders are proud to be able to host the CONCACAF 2021 Gold Cup final, next to Las Vegas, at the Allegiant Stadium in August,” Raiders president Marc Badain said. “The Gold Cup stands out among the world-class sporting events to be played at the Allegiant Stadium, and we are excited to bring the CONCACAF’s flagship event to the world’s sporting and entertainment capital.”
“We are thrilled that the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup is coming to the world’s sporting capital,” said Steve Hill, CEO and President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “We are excited to have the opportunity to host an event of this caliber, and with world-class entertainment, restaurants, outdoor adventures and sports facilities, we are confident that the teams and their fans will have an unforgettable “Only Vegas” experience.
In the coming weeks the other venues will be known where all the matches will be played. It is not yet known if there will be matches in Central America and the Caribbean as there are countries that still have restrictions because of the coronavirus.
