CONMEBOL qualifiers are postponed after failing to reach an agreement with FIFA

the eliminatory ones of the CONMEBOL heading to the 2022 Qatar World Cup, have been officially suspended after failing to reach an agreement this Saturday with the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino.

Through a statement on its social networks, the South American confederation revealed that this decision is due to the fact that they will not be able to count in time and form the players who play in European leagues, especially the Premier League i Bundesliga.

The CONMEBOL Council decided to suspend the double date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers scheduled for March. The decision is due to the impossibility of counting all South American players in time and form.

Likewise, the statement states that FIFA will analyze the rescheduling of the dates they had scheduled for the end of March. It should be remembered that several coaches and leaders of the aforementioned leagues refused to lend to their players because they had to do forty days, once they returned from their international commitments.
