At least no one threw a shoe.
Page Six learned that Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly had to separate after entering an altercation on the red carpet of the VMAs at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday night.
A spy told Page Six that “they were fighting at the top of the carpet” and “they had to be separated.”
The photographs show the 33-year-old UFC champion and 31-year-old “Bloody Valentine” singer seemingly sidelined after the explosion.
Our source added that McGregor allegedly threw his drink at Kelly.
“They quarreled and settled down and Conor went to look for him again,” the source said, adding that the photographers “were not happy” and “said they would boycott Conor because they were worried about MGK and Megan not he would “walk.”
Another source told us that security had to be involved and “everyone was shouting.”
“[McGregor] she was ready to throw fists, “the second source said, adding,” Security had trouble holding him back. “
It was not immediately known what ended the dispute, but McGregor’s representative denied that the fight took place despite photographic evidence.
“Conor only fights fighters,” his representative said on page six in a statement.
Kelly’s representative did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
They seem to have recovered fairly quickly from the fight while Kelly was seen walking the red carpet with his girlfriend Megan Fox shortly afterwards. The couple could not move their hands away and were seen showing a serious PDA as they posed for the photographers.
Kelly shook a bright red dress while Fox wore a Mugler dress just there.
Meanwhile, McGregor was walking the red carpet in a pink sports jacket next to girlfriend Dee Devlin.
It doesn’t look like MGK and McGregor had any prior meat and the singer was even seen attending his UFC 260 fight in Los Vegas with Fox, as well as with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker in March.
Kelly is scheduled to perform during the awards contest later in the evening. Other performers include Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Kacey Musgraves, Alicia Keys and more.
