Cleveland reportedly sought to sign Francisco Lindor on a more than $ 200 million contract, before eventually switching to the New York Mets.
According to MLB Network journalist Jon Heyman, Cleveland offered him the contract at the short stop last spring, even though he was seeking more than $ 300 million. This was apparently the time when “the Tribe ” understood ‘that the extension was not going to happen.
Cleveland announced Thursday that it had traded Francisco Lindor and pticher Carlos Carrasco to Mets, for infielders Andres Giménez and Amed Rosario; in addition to gardener Isaiah Greene and pitcher Josh Wolf.
