He then tried to walk away from the cameras, but before taking a couple of steps he fainted. A doctor caught her while she was lying on the ground and within seconds, several health workers came to her aid.
The events were recorded in a video posted by the American television channel ‘WTVC’,
When she recovered, Dover said the reaction is frequent in her. “I have a history of having a vasovagal response over reactive, so if I get hurt about something or if I hit my toe, I can faint,” Dover told ‘WRCB’.
The nursing manager was one of the first health workers at Chattanooga Hospital to receive the vaccine. The other doctors and nurses were vaccinated without incident.

Fainting after vaccination
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. UU. (CDC, for the acronym in English) say that fainting can occur after applying many types of vaccines, as a reaction to the vaccination process itself and not to what they contain.
Approximately 3% of men and 3.5% of women reported fainting at least once in their lifetime after being vaccinated, said the federal health agency. Fainting does not usually have lasting effects.
Dr. Jesse Tucker of Memorial Hospital told ‘WTVC’ that Dover’s reaction “can happen very often” and it’s not because of the vaccine itself.

Fainting can occur when people are nervous about receiving a vaccine
Fainting can also occur when people are nervous about getting a vaccine, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
The CDC has added that people who faint after receiving a vaccine often recover within minutes.
If a patient begins to experience symptoms of fainting, medical providers are advised to make him sit or go to bed, loosen tight clothing to help breathe, and “apply cold, damp cloths to the patient’s face and neck.” , according to the Immunization Action Coalition.
The CDC also recommends providing reassurance about the vaccination process, as well as giving patients drinks and sandwiches to prevent fainting.
