Coronavirus Vaccine: Hermann Memorial Adds 2K Additional Slots for COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at NRG Park

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The additional 2,000 slots Hermann Memorial added for NRG’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic this weekend are already full.

After quickly filling all the slots in its COVID-19 vaccine clinic, Memorial Hermann announced Friday around 6 p.m. that it will open others.

The seats were added to the Jan. 16 and 17 schedule, according to a hospital statement. About an hour later, the hospital announced that they had all been taken.

Memorial Hermann is partnering with NRG Park to offer a clinic for the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, but all available appointments have been reserved.

During this event, Hermann Memorial plans to vaccinate people over the age of 65, which is based on the state’s Phase 1B vaccine distribution guidelines.

Memorial Hermann added that as of 5 p.m. Friday, approximately 6,300 people had been vaccinated since it opened Thursday morning.

Vaccination is by appointment only for those who meet the requirements according to state guidelines.

“Due to the limited number of vaccines, people who do not have an appointment confirmation or photo ID that matches the name and date of birth on the appointment confirmation will not be vaccinated,” it reads. a statement posted on the Hermann Memorial website.
