Country star Tyler Rich was shocked when he discovered the body of a man who died during his four-mile race in a Massachusetts state park on New Year’s Eve.
And now, the 34-year-old singer says he believes the spirit of the dead led him to the tragic discovery.
In a lengthy text post shared on Instagram on Saturday, he revealed that a conversation with the deceased’s mother led him to think his tragic encounter was fate.

“Still reflecting on that constant feeling I was in that random part of the park at the exact time I was supposed to be, to find that young man,” he began. “There are a lot of coincidences that make me really believe it took me to where I was.”
The musician revealed that he found the body around noon on New Year’s Eve.
About 30 minutes later, I looked down at the clock. My current app had stopped once I stopped it and found it, and it said my average rate at the time was 11:11, ”he continued. “I told the police and the couple they gave me the phone to look at the clock and that maybe it was a good omen.”
Rich then felt compelled to share the information with the deceased’s mother.
Yesterday I talked to her sweet mother, which was one of the hardest things I can remember. We talked about the timeline and the series of events. She said the last text she sent was at 11:11 [sic]. And I found him only 45 minutes later, ”he explained.
Meaningful? Rich wrote that he found the man’s body at noon on New Year’s Eve and that its running application had stopped at 11:11 a.m., which, although it was “a good omen. “
Message from beyond: Rich spoke to the man’s mother and learned that his last text was sent to him at 11:11. He said he believed that “his spirit led me down that random side of the mountain.”
As for him, the discovery of the body was destiny and not just a terrible tragedy.
“I really believe his spirit took me to that side of the mountain to find him,” he wrote.
Rich described 11:11 as indicating that “angels are with you” and that it is time to “desire whatever you want. To feel comfortable. That the universe is by your side.”
The number was also significant to him because of his song 11:11, which deals with the loss.
“So every time I see those numbers, it resonates with me,” he continued.

The Difference singer suggested that the family of the deceased was also comforted by his theories.
“This specific series of small events somehow brings comfort to this family and to myself,” he concluded.

“Community is so important, remember to tell people how much you love them and remember to talk to someone, to anyone, when you feel lost and alone, because you are not,” he wrote.

Rich opened Friday about his “approximately 24 hours” after unexpectedly discovering the body.
He applauded the first attendees and members of the armed forces for being able to “look death in the eye every day” and “continue to live their daily lives” on the Instagram post.
Still shaken, he explained that he was “quite far from where anyone else ran” in a very wooded area, before saying that He thought he saw a “homeless young man” sleeping.

Rich continued, “After running around, I felt bad for him, slept upside down and looked like I was in a bad place. So I turned around and looked for him again.
The singer then said he realized the man was “not breathing” and appeared to have been shot or the victim of blunt trauma.
“When I get in front of him, all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. Everywhere, ‘he recalled.” Right now, I freak out and go out on the steep shore to try to find anyone with a problem calling the police (back then I only had my apple watch).
He then finds a couple about 30 feet away and uses his phone to contact authorities and ends up spending hours making statements with state soldiers, the FBI, local police and detectives.
“This young man looked maybe 18 to 25. He didn’t know it, because of all the blood, but his skin was still white. It didn’t look like it had been too long before he got there,” he noted.

He continued: “After a while, officers found a gun in one of his hands under his body. Which means it could have been a suicide … Not that there’s anything like that. “But I know for sure that no one had ruled it out and that it was where I wanted to be, at least it will make me a little more comfortable.”
Rich went on to describe how ordeal has weighed heavily on him.
I’m doing what I can to process this, the image, the reality. It’s been about 24 hours, ‘he admitted. Something I will never see or forget about the two minutes he and I were alone in the water as I discovered what the hell was going on and what I was going to do. Very quiet in the middle of a state park. Just running water and him and me. He looked like a normal, normal guy. Someone with a family would probably wonder where he was.

At this time, the Chicopee Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit continue to investigate the man’s death and his identity is unknown.
James Leydon, a spokesman for Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni, said “there was no threat to public safety related to this incident, which does not appear to be criminal in nature,” according to MassLive.
Rich, who was in Massachusetts with his wife Sabina Gadecki for the holidays, concluded his legend by writing, “Whoever you are and were, friend of RIP.”
