COVID-19 hospitalizations fall to 488

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 showed a drop in the report of today, Sunday, of the Department of Health to place in 488 people admitted to hospitals between adults and minors.

Those hospitalized for COVID-19 are 458 adults and 30 pediatricians. Of these, there are 120 adults in the intensive care unit and one minor. Meanwhile, 94 adults are connected to fan. The hospitalizations yesterday were 491.

New cases of the disease that Health reported today are an average of 637 between positive molecular testing and antigen testing. Specifically, they are an average of 350 confirmed cases with molecular testing and an average of 287 probable cases with antigen testing. However, the Coalition of Community Health of Puerto Rico (Cossack) reported in specific numbers 692 new cases between confirmed and probable.

The total number of confirmed cases accumulated in Puerto Rico since the beginning of the pandemic is 141,104. Of these people, 128,016 have recovered, according to the projection portal of the Department of Health.

Of the deaths reported today, they are two men aged 56 and 65, respectively, and an 89-year-old female. The deaths took place on August 14, 25 and 28.

This August, 239 deaths were reported from COVID-19 in Puerto Rico. As far as the pandemic is concerned, 2,826 people have lost their lives to the virus in the archipelago.

Vaccination has advanced and today 2,001,769 people are reported with their doses of COVID-19 vaccines completed in Puerto Rico.

Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia is expected to announce a new executive order tomorrow with measures to try to control the rise of COVID-19 on the island, Health Secretary Carlos Mellado anticipated last Friday.
