Under this plan, people over the age of 65 would be eligible for the vaccine in almost every local municipality.
For people who are not comfortable with the online registration process, states have developed their own call centers. But when you call the Delaware hotline, you get a busy tone.
Dr. Karyl Rattay, director of the Delaware Department of Public Health, said demand cannot meet supply.
The group 1B vaccine category includes 200,000 Delaware and the state only received about 15,000 vaccines a week.

“We don’t have any vaccine close enough to serve that population,” Rattay said.
On the first day of the website’s launch, 56,000 Delawareans requested an appointment with the group 1B vaccine.
Rattay suggested that friends, family and neighbors help seniors who are not comfortable registering for the vaccine online.
In Pennsylvania, you are asked to book an appointment with the vaccine using a provider map on the state’s website.
In Philadelphia, you can only express interest online and the Department of Health will contact you.
“When people are eligible, we’ll contact them to find out how to make an appointment,” said Dr. Thomas Farley, Philadelphia health commissioner.
In Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, interest is rising in getting the vaccine, but more doses are still needed.
“As of this morning, 80,000 people have previously registered at our vaccine site,” said Dr. Valarie Arkoosh, chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
Chester County now includes Category 1B people to be vaccinated immediately. The county is updating vaccine interest forms to reflect these changes.
In New Jersey, a representative from the state health department cannot be contacted by phone until next week.
In Camden County, appointments are already booked through August. These appointments can be booked through the Cooper Hospital website, which can support 6,000 visitors per second.
If you prefer to call an appointment, you can contact the Camden County Department of Health at (800) 999-9045.
“Very soon we will vaccinate more than 1,000 people (a day),” said Margarita Camacho, a public health nurse in Camden County.
Ruth Brodnick’s daughter enrolled her through the Cooper Hospital website. After receiving her first dose, she has already been scheduled for her second dose.
“Here I am, it’s a wonderful day. It’s a wonderful day for me and a wonderful day for our country,” Brodnick said.
