COVID-19 in Puerto Rico: Seven deaths and 2,388 additional cases are reported

The Department of Health report on Tuesday reported seven deaths from COVID-19, while 714 confirmed cases, 409 probable and an additional 1,265 suspected, were recorded for a total of 2,388 new positive cases in tests to detect the coronavirus, in samples taken from March 28 to April 11, 2021.

There are 406 people hospitalized, 19 more than in Monday’s report.

Among those hospitalized are 385 adult patients, 21 more than the day before and 21 pediatric cases, two fewer than in Monday’s report.

There are 81 adult patients in intensive care, nine more than the day before, and two pediatric cases, one more than the day before. While on ventilator there are 55 adult patients, 12 more than in Monday’s report. There is also a pediatric ventilator patient.

A total of 2,162 people were reported dead by Covid-19, seven more than in Monday’s report.

The reporting of deaths may vary to the extent that the processes of recording and coding the causes of death occur, which could take several days.
