New York’s COVID-19 positivity rate is around 3 percent and hospitalizations continue to rise.
According to statistics released Saturday by Governor Cuomo, the statewide rate, when an average of seven days was measured, was 3.12% on Friday.
The rate in New York City was 2.55 percent.
Of the 169,716 test results released Friday across the state, 4,990, or 2.94 percent, were positive, Cuomo said.

There were 1,978 people hospitalized with the virus on Friday and 18 killed by COVID-19, including seven among New York City residents.
The state yielded 54,431 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Friday to Saturday, bringing the total number of doses to 23,187,384.
A total of 78.3% of New York adults have received at least one shot of the vaccine and 70.4% have completed the vaccine series, Cuomo said citing federal data.
