Two Humboldt County residents died over the weekend after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Sixty-four additional cases have been reported since Friday, bringing the total number of districts tested positive for the virus to 1,295.
One person was in their 70s and the other was in their 90s when they died. Both are residents of the Granada Rehabilitation and Health Center in Eureka. A total of 69 residents and 23 staff tested positive for COVID-19 at the facility.
Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Ian Hoffman expressed his condolences to the loved ones of these individuals. “My heart goes out to the family, friends and caregivers of our people who have lived and worked in Humboldt County,” he said.
