Two new vaccination sites against COVID-19 arrive in Del Mar and San Marcos.
A vaccination superstation will open on Feb. 12 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260, Jimmy Durante Boulevard. The boarding and boarding site, operated by Scripps Health, will be open Friday through Sunday and can be increased to deliver 5,000 daily doses. Prior appointment required.
The COVID-19 vaccination site in San Marcos now vaccinates people over the age of 65 or older, especially those who do not have access to a computer or someone to help them.
When fully operational, the site will offer about 500 daily doses from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinic is located at 1706 Descanso Avenue in San Marcos and requires appointments that can only be made by calling San Diego 2-1-1. This San Marcos clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays.
The clinic is a public-private effort between the Gary and Mary West Foundation, West PACE, the Gary and Mary West Senior Dental Center, West Health, San Diego County, San Marcos City and 211 San Diego.
All County VAC overcoming stations and vaccination dispensing points, or PODs, currently vaccinate people in Phase 1A, primarily health care workers, and people 65 and older in Phase 1B. All require prior appointment at vaccinationsuperstationsd.com.
How to apply for a second dose appointment
If you were unable to schedule the second dose appointment at the time you scheduled or received the first, you should receive an email on how to schedule the second dose within five days of the due date.
If you don’t receive the email five days before the due date, you can fill out a form with the 2-1-1 San Diego, so they can schedule your second appointment.
Before doing so, make sure that you have checked all email folders, including the spam / spam folder, before submitting a request using the form.
In addition, county-funded community health workers, known as promoters, will contact people 65 or older in the national city, Chula Vista, the imperial city and San Ysidro directly to help them make vaccination appointments.
The metropolitan traffic system offers free travel to people who accredit a vaccination appointment. 2-1-1 San Diego and promoters also have the ability to arrange transportation.

To date, more than 703,000 doses of COVID-19 have been administered in the region. Of these, nearly 551,000 have been administered, including more than 95,000 fully vaccinated san diegans and 15.5 percent of the population over the age of 16 who have received at least one dose. You can find more information about vaccine distribution on the county vaccine board.
