COVID-19 vaccine: Texas gives Houston city 3,000 additional treatment vials, said Mayor Sylvester Turner

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced that the state of Texas has decided to give the city of Houston 3,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Turner said in a toy held Saturday that the vaccines will be specifically for city health workers. They will then be moved to hospitals and facilities for the elderly, such as residences.

Along with Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the two continued to insist on the need for residents to get the vaccine, but said children living in Houston deserve some sort of normalcy this holiday.

The Pfizer vaccine has arrived in the Houston area and hundreds of health officials have already started taking it.
