Doctors say a small number of patients with COVID-19 who have never had mental health problems are developing these symptoms weeks after contracting the virus.
Many of them did not have severe cases of coronavirus.

NYC expands Open Storefronts program
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the extension of the Open Storefronts program that aims to help small businesses in New York City in the midst of the COVID pandemic. The extension will run until September 30, 2021. The program allows retail stores and restaurants to use the sidewalk to sell pre-packaged food, expand the number of restaurants that can use the sidewalk to take away, and is part of the New York economic recovery plan.
Overflowing hospitals in California
California is taking drastic action as its hospitals are overflowing with coronavirus patients. The U.S. military has deployed medical troops to help them. The Los Angeles region has now reported a 600% increase in deaths since November. It turns out that 96% of the hospitals there reported that there was no room for emergency patients over the weekend.
The NJ warehouse party was interrupted, organizers were arrested
New Jersey police stopped a massive party in a warehouse with more than 200 people inside. The weekend rally in Newark was an extreme violation of the 10-person inner limit due to COVID-19 restrictions. The party was held inside a warehouse in the court of Libella, where illegal games were also played. Police say the party hosts also consumed unlicensed alcohol. Two women accused of organizing the event now face various charges.

Gov. Phil Murphy reported an additional 21 deaths in New Jersey for a total of 16,706 statewide. He said 2,745 new cases were registered for a total of 463,965.
New York’s positivity rate is rising
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday announced an additional 224 hospitalizations in the city and a total of 2,428 new cases. The 7-day positivity rate has increased to 7.24%.
Cuomo is committed to cracking down on vaccine fraud
Governor Cuomo announced that anyone who commits fraud to receive or administer the vaccine outside of the criteria set by NYSDOH will be liable to the fullest extent of the law. Cuomo will issue an Executive Order to increase sanctions on suppliers who intentionally ignore prioritization. Administration to a person who is not knowingly eligible could result in a penalty for the provider of up to $ 1 million and the revocation of all state licenses.
New York’s priority vaccination population is expanding
Governor Cuomo said vaccine eligibility this week is being expanded to cover urgent care center employees, vaccine administrators and residents of OASAS facilities. Next week, the criteria will be open to outpatient health care workers and health care workers facing the public, including those administering COVID tests.
