Zucker said the Department of Health was informed of reports on the Parcare community health network in Orange County.
Reports claim that the network somehow fraudulently obtained doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and transferred them to other facilities across the state, in violation of state guidelines.
He is also concerned that the vaccines will be given to members of the public and not to front-line health workers or residents and nursing home staff, as stipulated by the state.
“We take it very seriously and DOH will assist the state police in a criminal investigation into this matter. Anyone who has knowingly participated in this scheme will be held liable to the fullest extent of the law,” Zucker said.
ABC has contacted ParCare Community Health Network to comment; his site describes his work as “a multispecialty center that provides services such as primary care, internal medicine, dermatology, physiotherapy and pediatrics; it helps our patients maintain optimal health and prevent possible disease.”
In October, the New York Test and Trace Corps announced an expanded partnership with ParCare, to provide free testing and resources of COVID-19 for the Orthodox Jewish community.
