IDPH reported a total of 1,198,335 cases of COVID-19, including 20,763 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
As of Saturday night, 1,141 patients in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 255 patients were in the ICU and 112 patients with COVID-19 with ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, labs have reported testing 68,094 specimens for a total of 18,640,190 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day statewide preliminary positivity test from Feb. 28 to March 6 is 2.3%.

A total of 3,824,675 doses of vaccine were delivered to Illinois providers, including Chicago, with an additional 443,700 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care centers, bringing the total number of vaccines. deliveries to Illinois is 4,268,375.

IDPH reports that a total of 3,358,214 vaccine doses have been administered, including 344,569 in long-term facilities. The rotating average of seven days of vaccines administered is 98,183.

The first case in Illinois of a more contagious COVID-19 variant in Brazil has been identified in a Chicago patient.
Researchers at Northwestern Medicine said they first identified P.1. variant, which was first encountered earlier this year in travelers from Brazil during an airport screening in Tokyo. The Brazilian variant has since been found in several other countries.
The deaths reported on Saturday include:
– Cook County: 2 men 40 years, 1 woman 60 years, 1 man 60 years, 1 man 80 years
– Kankakee County: 1 man of 60 years
– Kendall County: 1 woman aged 70 years
– Lake County: 1 man from the 70’s
– Livingston County; 1 woman 60 years
– Madison County: 1 40-year-old woman, 1 60-year-old woman
– Massac County: 1 man from the 70s
– Peoria County: 1 woman aged 80 years
– County of Will: 1 man of the 80
