COVID Vaccine: How many people in your area are hesitant to get shot?

Most states have opened the COVID-19 vaccine to everyone 16 years of age or older, but not everyone is lining up to get the vaccine.

With the recent temporary pause in the Johnson & Johnson vaccine distribution, doctors are concerned about an increase in vacancy that may not be justified.

Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Dust Survey, the CDC found that up to a third of adults in some areas reported doubting the COVID-19 vaccine. These rates are higher in the states of Wyoming and North Dakota, and lower in Massachusetts, Vermont, and California.

In cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where the global vaccine hesitation is low, areas with a higher percentage of people of color also tend to have slightly higher excitation rates.
